Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa

Heat the Milk:Pour 2 cups of milk into a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

Mix Cocoa and Sugar:While the milk is heating, in a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Combine with Milk:Once the milk is simmering, add the cocoa-sugar mixture to the saucepan, whisking continuously until fully dissolved.

Add Chocolate:Add 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate to the milk mixture. Continue to whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

Season:Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.

Heat Through:Allow the hot cocoa to continue heating for another minute or two, whisking occasionally, until it reaches your desired temperature.
